Need a new show to watch … but looking for something that’ll leave you inspired about the world?
Try “Girl Starter,” which premiered this past Friday on TLC. Eight girls (none of whom are older than 24 years old) compete for funding for their startup business ideas.
It’s binge-worthy brain food, and it all got started with Duke connections. Dani Davis, one of Girl Starter’s co-founders, is a Duke alum who wanted to recapture that “feeling of connection to the undergraduate experience that prepared us for the world,” she told Duke Magazine.
Davis was inspired to create Girl Starter after meeting with Julia Collins, now a Duke sophomore. Read more about their story — and what they’ve created — in Duke Magazine.1 comment
